It’s getting close to “go time” with the delivery of my second child – just a few more weeks! I’m excited to meet our little guy, and as I’m preparing, of course labor and delivery have been on my mind lately. I thought I’d share some of the oils I used during my labor with my first child. I had a wonderful labor experience then, and I’m so grateful for these essential oils that helped me stay calm, focused and keep the pain under control.

This was my labor and recovery Doterra “oil wishlist” last time, and I ended up getting and using all of these oils. I plan on doing the same this time!

If you want to use these same oils, you can get them here with a Doterra wholesale account (the cheapest way to go!) or at retail prices here. I think you’re gonna love these!

Before my due date, I let my husband and doula know which oils I wanted to use during labor and how I wanted them applied, because, as you know, once labor gets going, not much is on your mind except getting that baby out! They both did wonderfully in applying and using the oils and I’m so, so glad I used the oils during labor!

  • Balance – apply to feet to promote feelings of strength and being grounded. Excellent during and after labor.
  • Deep Blue – Awesome for labor pains! Apply and reapply as needed during labor.
  • Deep Blue – Awesome for aches and pains post-labor
  • On Guard – combine 10 drops with water in a small spray bottle and use as an all-natural hand santizer for visitors and in public with newborn
  • On Guard – diffuse in your Petal Diffuser to combat airborne pathogens.
  • Peppermint – Use to support steady energy when labor becomes difficult
  • Peppermint – Layer on top of Deep Blue during or after labor for labor pains and recovery. Delivers powerful relief!
  • Peppermint – Use for nausea during labor
  • Petal Diffuser – diffuse one or more of your favorite oils during labor to keep the atmosphere as calm and relaxed as possible. Wild Orange, Citrus Bliss, Balance, Whisper would all be great choices!
  • Perinium support – powerful for promoting a relaxed perenium area; great for post-recovery, too! This mix was a lifesaver for me post-delivery!
  • 5 drops Frankincense
  • 5 drops Lavender
  • 5 drops Helicrysum
  • 5 drops sandalwood
  • 5 drops vetiver
  • 5 drops geranium
  • 4 TBLS oilve or coconut oil

Combine and pour into small spray bottle or bowl. Apply before and during labor to support healthy tissues. Apply 2x/day or more post-delivery for healthy tissue recovery. If you choose, apply to baby’s head as a crowing oil, or during bonding time. Being born is traumatic, and oils can help promote stable emotions for baby.

These essential oils were so key in my well being during labor and for recovery! I’m so glad I had them. And I can’t wait to use them again!
