It’s that season when illness is being passed around! To keep our immune systems strong, one thing we love to do is drink our green smoothies every day. Mikah loves to help me make them and drink them, too. It’s fun to see your 3-year-old drink a cup of green smoothie!

We drink our green smoothies all winter (and actually, year-round) and love the energy we get from them, as well as that  “good feeling” inside when we eat (or drink!) right! Drinking greens is a great way to get in enough veggies every day, and the nutrients in them are fantastic for keeping the immune system strong.

For making green smoothies, I love the Vitamix blender – it absolutely pulverizes everything I put in it  – including greens, celery, nut butters, coconut butter and ice! The Vitamix rocks my natural food world!

Using the Vitamix has definitely been a game-changer for my health, which can be sensitive, due to when I had Lyme disease. But I’ve noticed a huge difference when I drink my green smoothies, in my energy, immunity and how I feel overall.

If you want to try out green smoothies and see what they can do for you, here’s a green smoothie recipe I made up to help keep your immune system strong this winter!

Super Cashew Smoothie

  • 1 banana
  • 2 cups packed greens of your choice
  • 4 cups organic grapes
  • 2 cup frozen peaches
  • 2 Tblsp cashew butter
  • 1-2 cups ice
  • Water

Put all ingredients into your Vitamix blender, fill with water just below the top of the ingredients and blend. Hope you enjoy this, and drink to your health this winter!
